SWKA
The only official Kayak Fishing club in the UK. We hope you find the website easy and informative for all aspect of kayak fishing.
Our main aim is to raise money to help the RNLI and over the last 3 events have raised over £3000 and each year around October we meet up with the Local RNLI crew at Horton and Port Eynon where we present the proceeds from our event. With over 40 members stretching all along the South Wales coast we arrange courses such as VHF Radio training and Paddle courses and offer help and assistance in anyway we can to help new kayak anglers in this fast growing extreme sport. In 2011 we were invited to join Loughor Boat club where we now have a place we can call home and meet up for the usual club business and then a friendly chat about all things fishing. We welcome new members to the club and meet at the Boat club on the last
Tuesday of every month. So why not pop along to see us or join us on one of the organised fishing meets that occur most weekends.

SWKA BOY'S AT OXWICH
OXWICH COMP 2012
With a busy end to 2012 we were finding it hard to fix a date to travel over to
Horton to present the cheque for £1000 from 2012' Oxwich competition.
well the day came and that was this Sunday the 13th of January, it was a glorious day
and a good turnout From the rnli crew members, they were over whelmed with the
amount raised and would like to thank all of SWKA and the entrants to the
competition for the generous amount that will be put to good use.
We have always asked Laurie the ops manager if he ever needed anything just to let us
know and we will purchase that from what we raise but he has always said to put
it in the main RNLI fund.It was different this time as he asked us if he could put it in the private boat house fund as they were saving up for something big and we said of course so we went about finding out what this big purchase was.
Well it turns out that they are saving up for a much needed extension for the boathouse, the extension will be a locker room and also a
workshop for Steve the mechanic, you wouldnt think they need it untill they give you a tour and show you how their kit is stored, cramped is an understatement, so after them explaining and showing the plans you can see that this extension is almost has important as the rest of the kit these guys use.
This is how it stands, they have £23000 saved £24000 with our cheque and a rough estimate at a top end price i think they be looking in the region of £70000 to complete the extension, they have full support from head office and have also been given the land buy the village council, so i think we can help a bit more with raising some cash for them, hopefully this years Oxwich have a better run up of good weather which will attract more entrants and that means more raffle tickets and profit which means a bigger cheque for next year, so if we can come up with some other form of money raiser through out the year that will be good to know that we have helped with the building of this much needed
extension.
